Get ready for one more Bollywood horror film inspired (unofficially) from a Hollywood horror film. Upcoming Indian horror-thriller ‘Mona Darling’ is set in the contemporary, post-cyber world. A modern murder-mystery, with a blend of supernatural, this film is set in a college campus somewhere in India, where a few mysterious deaths occur and the only common link between the victims is that, seconds before their deaths, they all accepted a ‘Facebook friend request’ from a certain profile page of Mona Darling.
Indian horror fans who follow the Hollywood horror films can easily guess that the film is hugely influenced from Hollywood horror ‘Friend Request’. It was a German film produced by Warner bros. The film was based on an evil girl Marina who makes the life of a famous girl in the college into a real hell by sending her a friend request.
In the Hindi film the person behind the said page, Mona happens to be missing. Her friend, and a fellow student, Sarah recruits the help of a classmate to solve the mystery. The Indian film stars Anshuman Jha, Suzzana Mukherjee and Divya Menon of (Detective Byomkesh Bakshy) with Sanjay Suri in the lead role.
