After being in development hell for around 3 years, the Hindi adaptation of Mike Flanagan’s Oculus is finally releasing in India. The trailer of the film titled in Hindi as Dobaara’ See Your Evil’ has been released and well received by the Hindi horror fans. The Hindi film is adopted and directed by Prawal Raman and was earlier titled as “Zahhak”
The discussion for the Hindi version started in 2014 when B4U movies tied up with BalaJee films and Relativity media for it. The film was shot in Berkshire, a picturesque county in South East England located close to West London. Bollywood actress Huma qureshi is playing a protective sister in the film along with her brother Saqib saleem, who plays her brother in the film as well. The original writer of ‘Oculus’, Mike Flanagan, who is also associated with the Hindi version, suggested an exotic location such as Berkshire, which he felt, was much required to keep the eerie feeling of the movie alive.
The trailer of the film looks promising provided you have not seen the English version. In Oculus, Karren Gillian did a terrific job in the role of an elder sister thriving to find the reason behind the mysterious death of her parents and Huma qureshi doesn’t look even close to her Hollywood counterpart. Another big laid down are the child artists in the Hindi version as Annalise Basso and Garrett Ryan did a fabulous job in the English version. Lisa Ray and Adil Hussain have been casted in the role of the parents who looks fine.
Though I am again mentioning that the Indian horror fans who don’t know much about Oculus and have not seen it, Dobaara ‘See Your Evil’ could be a treat. The film is releasing in theaters on 2nd June 2017.
