Writer- director Nicholas McCarthy’s 2012 horror THE PACT is to have a sequel. A trailer and poster titled THE PACT 2 were recently released to rave reviews from horror fans across the globe. Horror website Bloody Disgusting has reported that the film is to have a VOD release on 5th September and a limited theatrical release on the 10h of October.
The film, which is set some weeks after Annie Barlow’s confrontation with the Judas killer, tells the story of a young woman who is having nightmares about a serial killer. As time passes she realises that the awkward dreams have a connection wit the real world.
Camilla Luddington (Grey’s Anatomy), Patrick Fischler (Californication) and Scott Michael Foster star in the sequel, which has been directed by Dallas Richard Hallam and Patrick Horvath.
The original film was based on a short story written by McCarthy, which received critical acclaim as a short film in the Sundance Film festival in 2011. It was subsequently made into a full length feature film, which received critical acclaim as well as garnering USD 7 million having been made on a very small budget. Cailtley Lotz and Casper Van Dien played the main leads in the 2012 film.
