ROAR, an Indian horror based on the Tigers of Sundarbans

India is home to the largest population of tigers in the world. There are about 1700 tigers in the country with Malaysia being second with a count of about 500. India also has around 25 Tiger reserves, out of which Sundarbans is a prominent one accommodating some rare species like the Royal Bengal Tigers, Estuarine Crocodiles and Gangetic Dolphins.

Indian filmmaker and actor Kamal Sadanah has selected this beautiful place spread over 10,000 sq. kms for the backdrop of his next Indian thriller horror ROAR. The film tells the story of a commando who comes to the Sundarbans to find his missing photojournalist brother. His brother had ventured into the dense forest and rescued and taken away a white tiger cub to a nearby village. The mother of the cub, a Royal Bengal Tigress attacks the village in a rage to claim her son and since then the photojournalist is missing. The commando brother organizes a team of people to trace his brother only to face menacing animals and the wrath of the tigers in the forest.

Abis Rizvi produces the film featuring Pulkit Jawahar, Pranoy Dixit, Achint kaur and Abhinav Shukla while the story is written by Aanand goradiya A trailer of the film was released on YouTube a few days ago, which looks promising specially regarding the special effects involving the scene with the Royal Bengal Tigress. The film is releasing on September 14.
