Indian Horror PIZZA 3D failed to meet expectations

Indian Horror film, Pizza 3D, which released last week did not manage to attain great numbers at the box office. In spite of a huge marketing impetus from UTV Spotboy, this Akshay Akkineni directed film proved to be a disappointment. Overall the film managed a measly Rs. 2.39 crore on its first weekend, clearly falling behind on expectations compared to its promotional budget.

The film is a remake of 2012 south Indian horror film Pizza. The story is about a pizza delivery boy who goes to deliver a pizza in a flat. The movie moves around the mysteries he faces there and how he overcomes it all. The lead roles in the hindi version are played by Akshay Oberoi, Parvathy Omanakuttan, Dipannita Sharma and Arunodaya Singh. The film has received mixed reviews but predominantly steer towards the negative, where critics are often complaining about the flat and predictable premise, however showing appreciation for the actors.

Contradictory to the fate of the Hindi version, the original Tamil film was a box office success, raking in around Rs. 80 million which is great considering the production budget was a meagre Rs. 15 million. The film was appreciated by most critics for its storyline and direction.
