Fugitive bank robber caught while shooting for a horror movie

People want to work in the entertainment industry to become famous. They want their pictures everywhere, be it the TV, magazines or newspapers, as this increases their popularity and face value. Sometimes one ends up paying back for this fame, not because their privacy is breached but for something more bizarre. Yes, it’s true. An upcoming horror film Marla Mae was shooting in Olympia, Washington. After pack up of the shooting, the local newspaper (The Olympian) published a news article regarding the film including lots of pictures of the actors on the film set.

Some agents from the U.S. Marshal Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force saw the pictures and found a familiar face there. The person was Jason Stange, who was playing the character of a doctor in the film. He was selected for the film after a tough audition process but before this audition his address was halfway house (a place where criminals on probation were kept). The man was caught in 2006 after an armed robbery and had spent several years in jail and probation houses afterwards. He escaped from his probation home in year 2014 and a warrant against him was issued. The Marshals dint waste a single day and caught Jason from a restaurant near the film set.

The writer-director of the film Lisa Van Dam Bates was very upset on the development as she found Jason to be an extremely talented actor and she also had done major changes in his character after he was selected for the role. The film revolves around a girl who went to a doctor for an IUD implant. The doctor who is a distant relative does something very insane with the girl resulting in making her extremely dangerous for anyone close to her.

Jason is currently in jail on the charges of jailbreak and robbery. The film is currently in postproduction and slated for a 2016 release.
