A leaked tape from Vatican City is the basis of this horror film

Horror films based on exorcism have always been a favorite. The Exorcist, The Last Exorcism and The Exorcism of Emily Rose are some great horror films based on exorcism. All of them not only went on to get critical acclaim but also rocked at the box office.

Mark Neveldine, director of action films Crank and Gamer is coming with one more exorcism horror with a very interesting premise. The film is based on a leaked tape an exorcism in Vatican City. If you didn’t know, in Christianity, before performing any exorcism, the priest needs an official permission from The Vatican to do so.

The film tells the story of a girl who accidentally cuts her wrist. She is admitted to a hospital, but as the infection starts to spread she starts doing some very strange things. People around her are getting injured and some of them even get killed. The priest checks her and finds the possibility of a possession. The case was referred to The Vatican to gain permission to perform an exorcism. The Vatican gives permission only to realize later that this was not just an ordinary demon but an ancient satanic force they were fighting, which exceeded the extent of their imagination.

Chris Morgan and Christopher Borrelli wrote the story and screenplay. Kathleen Robertson and Michael Pena play the lead roles. The film is slated for an early 2015 release by Lionsgate Entertainment.
